My son is Jonathan, I am Kellene. We are a mother and son building team.
I think a good way to describe our clients is to say that they understand quality and the Green mindset. They are either minimilists who want a clean, simplistic, green sustainable home that is small or they can't afford a high budget home but realize that a home that is large and poorly built is only CALLED affordable.
I love to actively promote the VALUE driven Green Community. There are many areas involved from landscaping, to FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Salvage companies that go in and tear old buildings down, reclaiming the wood and materials for reuse. Many, many manufacturers to choose from.
The opposite is the RETAIL driven green that gives the appearance of green and claims to be ECO but barely is.
As a Realtor I specialize in Builtgreen and promoting the green community. I have joined OMB and Builtgreen again as a Realtor in order to effectively work with Builtgreen builders.
I enjoy working with investors and land developers. Marketing platted developments to builders is interesting work. Understanding the scope of a builder's needs to effectively build and market a community is important. My connections work out very well in this area.
I adhere to solid work ethics and greatly enjoy networking. I care about every client I work with, entry level or luxury. I am well researched in both areas. I am not an expert but having a basic understanding of construction and energy building practices serves my clients well.
I have developed land for my business. Septic, dirt type, permits and construction costs are second nature for me. I have spent 20 years in real estate.
In January 2008, Jonathan purchased the Green Depot, with the vision of leading the company to the next generation of sustainable building in the Northwest. As a senior consultant, Jonathan specializes in whole systems design. He coordinates a growing team of professionals to provide the building community with a whole system design for energy efficient systems that are both affordable and perform 50% or better than energy code. Jonathan is also an active in the Built Green and Energy Star programs and serves on the regional board of the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild.
As a cultural anthropologist and entrepreneur, Jonathan serves his community and businesses to integrate deep values for social and environmental good. Through his consulting firm, The Tahoma Group (www.tahomagroup.com), Jonathan has directed development projects and consultations across North America and parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. He is presently involved with community and business development work with local native peoples in Washington and northern Brazil.
Jonathan spends time exploring the great Northwest with his wife Jennifer and their four children from the home they built near Olympia, Washington.
We are owners of a 20 acre FSC family forest, called S&J’s Happytree Tree Farm in Olympia. We specialize in low-impact off road log moving. After attending several Forest Field days, we found the solution for small land owners to the problem of how to move trees without tearing up the land or using large equipment - use an ARCH! We have three arches and quite a bit of experience (we moved 54 logs for our first harvested truck load).

• Use our ATV to move logs as long as 41’ 4” or as big as 24” diameter. |
| |
• Impact on the land and trees is exceptionally low. |
| |
• Some natural slope issues can be addressed by using our two wenches; we have been able to retrieve logs from every situation so far. |
| |
• We can also bring down small to medium leaners. |
Even I was a doubter as to the practical limits of this equipment to safely move logs; but now I’m a true believer ! We can move a log from one part of your land to another. After a wind storm, we can haul what mother nature caused to fall. We have a variety of tools to help us and a trailer to haul it all around in.
NOTE: we do not cut down difficult trees, or transport logs to the mill.
